Arlington Agency on Aging (Area Agency on Aging)
Arlington Aging and Disability Services
Who We Are
The Administration on Aging is the only Federal agency devoted exclusively to the concerns and potential of America's older population. AoA allocates funds appropriated under Title III of the Older Americans Act among the state and Territorial Units on Aging based on the size of the 60 plus population in each state. Each state then awards grants to Area Agencies on Aging to support the development of responsive systems of services and opportunities for older people in each community. Older Americans Act funds can be used to support a wide range of community-based supportive and nutrition services, including services in the home, services and opportunities in the community, access services, and services to individuals in long-term care facilities.
The Arlington County Department of Human Services - Aging and Disability Services, is part of the County's integrated Department of Human Services.
